An American Success Story
McCarl’s Plumbing & Heating Co. was Founded
Founded in 1946 by Foster McCarl Jr., whom honorably served our country and created a small residential plumbing, heating and air conditioning company as a way to support his young family. His mission was always doing “what was right for the customer”, and he quickly led his company, McCarl’s Plumbing and Heating Co., from a one man operation to a period of tremendous growth.
Hard Work & Dedication
Foster was dedicated to see his business succeed. He worked tirelessly in all aspects of the business to ensure the success of his newly founded company. His wife, Muriel, would help during the slow times by selling model trains in the window of the shop to help “keep the lights on”.
First Commercial Project
In 1958, Foster sold and completed his first commercial project, expanding the companies reach outside of the residential market, and beginning a long period of great growth for McCarl’s.
Second Generation McCarl’s
To ensure the continued involvement of family for the distant future, Foster transitioned the business into the hands of his 4 sons.
Kevin, our current president, was chosen by Foster to oversee the company’s Service operations.

McCarl’s name is known coast to coast, as the company grew to one of the 20 largest mechanical contractors in the country, with 100s of employees, and a reputation for delivering some of the most technically complex projects.
McCarl’s Services
Our service division moved to Cranberry Twp, PA and reincorporated as McCarl’s Services Inc.
Mechanical Contractors Assoc. of America
Foster was sworn in as president of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America.
Third Generation McCarl’s
McCarl’s Services Inc. transitioned into our 3rd generation of family management, ensuring Foster’s dream of family involvement will continue for many years to come.
Leader in the Tri-State Area
Today, McCarl’s serves many of the Tri-State areas largest companies for all of their HVACR needs. We focus on proactive maintenance, equipment replacement, energy projects, and turnkey design-build. Year after year we lead our industry with our technical capabilities and a focus on serving our customers.
